The Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) inside Las Cruces Public Schools will begin accepting applications for the 2022-2023 spring semester and the 2023-2024 school year on Dec. 1, 2022. A parent meeting has also been scheduled to answer any questions families might have about VLA.
The VLA first opened in the district as an online option for K-12 students who wanted to make up credits or supplement their learning with online classes. Following the pandemic, some families found VLA to be a better fit for students and enrollment grew. Today, VLA accounts for approximately 700 students looking for a more flexible schedule, are advanced learners or for those who travel extensively with family.
Applications for VLA can be submitted here using the ‘Application link’ tab. Questions about the application process, registration, and VLA in general will be answered in a Zoom meeting on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m.
