Last night the board recognized the district’s fine arts program for this prestigious honor and outstanding commitment and dedication to music education. Dear Parents and Families, We are thrilled to announce that this summer, we are partnering once again with NM PED to bring back the Literacy Summer Institute! This program is designed to help Kinder through 8th-grade students strengthen their reading skills through intensive, focused instruction. If you are interested in this opportunity for your child, please visit the Literacy.NM.Gov link on the flyer for more information and to register. Here are some key details: Dates: June 2 – June 27, 2025 Days and Times: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (4 hours/day) Student-to-Teacher Ratio: Approximately 1:4 Sites: Six locations in our district (4 elementary schools and 2 middle schools, specific sites TBD) Meals: Will be provided at the sites Transportation: TBD We look forward to another impactful summer of learning! We are excited to announce our annual Band Expo Nights, where all 5th grade students are encouraged to attend and explore their options for beginning band. This event provides an excellent opportunity for students to get a more solidified idea of which instrument they would like to pursue in beginning band. This year, we will be holding two sessions: Mesa Middle School – January 28th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Lynn Middle School – January 30th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM All sessions will begin promptly at 6:00 PM with a demonstration and an explanation of the instrument selection process. Promptness is essential, as it ensures that students will not miss any of the important information or demonstrations. During these sessions, students will have the chance to be individually tested by community experts, which will help streamline the instrument selection process as they enter the upcoming school year.
